Ukiyo, floating world. The term ukiyo refers to a state of mind that emphasizes living in the moment, detached from the difficulties of life. In Japan, there is a brief period in spring when the sakura (cherry) blossoms are in full bloom. In a tradition known as "Hanami", the blossoming of the flowers as well as the change into the new season is celebrated. Born in Kagoshima in the shadow of the Sakurajima volcano, this gin is based on the traditional Japanese shochu spirit. When the high quality shochu is redistilled, the result is a smooth gin with a wonderfully soft mouthfeel. Botanicals: juniper, citrus, cherry blossom, ... Tasting notes:Colour: Clear. Nose: Slightly floral, fruity, cherry blossom. Taste: Juniper, cherry blossom, orange, notes of coriander, oak, violet aromas. Finish: Long lasting.
