William Smith founded the Jericho Distillery in 1822, a farm distillery suitable for producing small quantities of whiskey. In 1824, whiskey production started at the distillery. In 1883, the company was renamed Benachie Distillery. In 1913 it was closed down. Tasting notes:Colour: Gold. Nose: Mild, slightly oily, sweetish, chocolate, cinnamon, peanut shells. Taste: Fruity, oily, pepper, dark chocolate, cinnamon sticks. Finish: Long lasting.
