William Smith founded the Jericho Distillery in 1822, and the farm distillery was suitable for the production of small quantities of whiskey. In 1824 the whiskey production started in the distillery. In 1883 the company was renamed Benachie Distillery. In 1913 the distillery was closed down.Tasting notes:Colour: gold. Nose: Mild, slightly oily, sweetish, chocolate, cinnamon, peanut shells. Taste: Fruity, oily, pepper, dark chocolate, cinnamon sticks. Finish: Long lasting.
