The Equiano Rum is a blend of Mauritius and Barbados Rum. In Mauritius the rum matures in French Limousin and Cognac Casks, which gives it its complex notes. In Barbados, the award-winning rum from the Foursquare Rum Distillery is used, which matures in ex-Bourbon Casks. Freshly married, the two distillates get a finish in American White Oak Cask. Here the rum matures for about 8 years. The Equiano Rum is neither coloured nor are various additives added. Awards: - Gold medal at the Spirits Selection in 2019 - Gold medal at the International Spirits Challenge in 2019 - Silver medal at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in 2019Tasting notes:Colour: Bright amber. Nose: Rich, tropical warmth, dried fruit, raisins, toffee, butterscotch, caramel, orange peel, vanilla. Taste: Sweet notes, brown sugar, toffee, butterscotch, raisins. Finish: Long lasting, sweetish, oak wood, aniseed, orange.
