The Balvenie, with its sister distillery Glenfiddich, is still independent and family owned by its founders.
The Balvenie 14 Years Old Week of Peat belongs to the "Stories" range of the distillery. The three bottlings tell the story of the distillery.
The story of "The Week of Peat" is told by Distillery Manager Ian Millar who experimented with peat to create a peated whisky from Balvenie.
Today peat whisky is produced once a year for one week.
