On the rugged coast of the unique Isle of Skye lies south of Dunvagan directly on the shore of a bay as if conjured up, the snow-white small distillery Talisker. Two brothers founded the distillery in 1831, and after their deaths numerous others took over the attempt to continue the distillery. All failed until a financial manager and a wine and spirits merchant succeeded in taking over. Talisker was triple distilled until 1928, then only double. After a fire in 1960, the distillery was rebuilt true to the original. Today, Talisker belongs to the Diageo spirits group. Talisker Surge was created by the sea, from rugged coastlines and mighty storms to warming sunbeams and soaring skies, the Isle of Skye flows through Talisker's veins, invigorating souls. The spirit of this unique place is captured in this richly flavored whisky, transporting adventurous travelers to this amazing island. This Travel Retail bottling is finished in American bourbon casks to preserve its deliciously sweet flavor. An additional layer of spice rounds out this rich single malt with a subtle smoky profile, while maintaining the distinct maritime characteristics of this iconic coastal distillery.
