Stauning Kaos Danish Whisky is by no means chaotic, although its name might suggest that. Namely inspired by Danish history, the name goes back to Thorvald Stauning (1873-1943), Social Democratic Prime Minister of Denmark. For his 1935 re-election campaign, he used the now-famous slogan "Stauning or Chaos" (Danish: "Stauning eller Kaos"). He won the election. This whisky is a blend of Stauning Single Malt (no-smoke), Stauning Malted Rye and Stauning Smoked Single Malt. All that makes Stauning Kaos Whisky so unique and special is made with local raw materials and traditional production methods at the Stauning distillery itself. The whiskey matures in First Fill Makers Mark Bourbon Casks as well as in heavily charred American Virgin Oak Barrels. It is finished for 18 months in rum casks from Cuba, Barbados and Fiji.
