This Heavily Peated Single Malt from Springbank Distillery was double distilled, with the first distillation taking place back in 1973. At that time, an experiment was conducted to prove that it was possible to create an Islay-style single malt whisky on the mainland. The barley is peat-dried exclusively, which gives the whisky a wonderful smoky character. This heavily peated whisky is aged in bourbon and sherry casks.
