The history of the SeRum dates back to the 19th century, when the Panama Canal was built. At that time many Cubans and people living in the Caribbean died due to the hard working conditions and the outbreak of the disease malaria. Cuban women added pickled dried fruits and spices to their old Panamanian spirits to make a kind of energy drink that gives strength to the men. Later, these spirits were also used to treat snake bites and malaria, as they were believed to have a healing effect, hence the name 'SeRum'. The SeRum Elixir de Ron Carta Oro is a spirit based on Panama Rum which matures for 3 to 8 years in barrels.Tasting notes:Colour: Amber. Nose: peaches, almonds, cinnamon.
