Description
The Santa Rita winery was founded in Chile in 1880 by Domingo Fernández Conch. After the takeover of Grupo Claro in 1980, the production was modernised and a new impulse for Chilean wine production was set. Today, Santa Rita is the second largest winery in Chile. Awards: - Wine & Spirits Magazine's Winery of the Year.Tasting notes:Ruby red in the glass. In the nose blackberries, cassis, raspberries, cherries and thyme. On the palate very charming with mild acidity and velvety tannins. Long lasting in the finish. Grape variety: 100% Merlot. Aging: 6-8 months in French oak. Drinking temperature: 14-18°C. Storage potential: Until 2022. Closure: screw cap. The red wine goes very well with beef, pork and various hard cheeses.
