Ron Esclavo is a premium rum range from the Dominican Republic. From the cultivation of the sugar cane to the bottling, everything takes place in the Dominican Republic; the distillery behind it is Alcoholes Finos Dominicanos. "Esclavo" is the Spanish word for slave and eponymous for this rum range, which pays homage to all the people who paid a high price in the dark chapter of rum production. The Ron Esclavo Islay Whisky is made from fresh sugar cane juice and matures in American and French oak barrels. The second finish it receives in ex-Islay whisky barrels for another 9 months. Limited to 1821 bottles. Tasting notes:Color: Dark amber. Nose: Spicy, smoky, dark cherries, wet wood. Taste: Full-bodied, fruity, sweet, plums, cherries, leather, peat. Finish: Long lasting.
