For the first time in this cask series, this bottling contains 100% barley from the island of Islay. The harvest of the barley was carried out in 2011 by seven agricultural partners of the distillery, which are located no more than 10 miles away.
The 9-year maturation of the single malt began in hand-selected sherry casks and first- and second-fill American whiskey casks. This was then filled at various stages of maturation into barrels that had previously held the finest Sauternes wines from France.
