The Port Charlotte 10 Years Old Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt is 100% from Islay. The barley used comes from the Inverness region and is heavily peated. The 10-year maturation is 65% in American first fill whiskey casks, 10% in American second fill whiskey casks and 25% in French second fill wine casks. Phenolic content: 40 ppm. Tasting notes:Color: amber. Nose: Smoky, notes of oak aromas, caramel, vanilla, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, citrus. Taste: Soft, smoky, sweet oak, coconuts, vanilla, honey, notes of smoked oysters, salt. Finish: Long lasting, smoky, malted barley, oranges, mangoes.
