The Poliziano winery was founded in 1961 by Dino Carletti. He purchased 22 hectares at the beginning, but over the years he expanded it to 170 hectares. The name "Poliziano" comes from the humanist and poet Angelo Ambrogini, who had this nickname. In 1980, Carletti's son took over the company. From the beginning, Federico was very concerned about the harmony between nature and viticulture. After graduating in agronomy in 1978, he had a great influence on the viticulture as well as on the production process. Through the experiences of the generations, the wine could grow and reach worldwide fame. Tasting notes:Ruby red in the glass. In the nose very typical, with fruity aromas of cherries and wild berries. At the palate well balanced, multilayered, aromatic and after plums. Long lasting with a lot of fruit in the finish. Grape varieties: 80% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot. Aging: 8 months in barrique barrels. Closure: plastic cork. Drinking temperature: 16-18°C. Ageing potential: 5-8 years. The wine harmonizes very well with pizza and pasta, but also with spicy cheese.
