Description
The history of Picon liqueur began in Africa about 150 years ago. A soldier named Gaetan Picon created it in 1837, after his return from Algeria. Before he named his creation Picon, it was called Amer African. The base of Picon is made from the distillation of orange peel, gentian extract, cinchona bark, sugar, caramel and alcohol. Tasting notes:Colour: Amber. Nose: Fruity, bitter. Taste: Complex, oranges, notes of gentian, quinquina. Finish: Long lasting. Best served neat, on ice, for cocktails or long drinks, but also a pleasure in combination with beer. Or simply mix 1/3 Picon to 2/3 white wine.
