Old Pulteney has announced its new line NAS-Travel-Retail in summer 2013. The colourful packaging is to remind of lighthouses from the Scottish highlands around Wick.
This design is packaged with a bright blue label and a tube and shows the lighthouse of Noss Head, from which the whisky was inspired.
The lighthouse was built in 1849 by Robert Arnot and named after the Old Norse word "Snos". It represents the nose-shaped promontory on which it is located.
The Old Pulteney Noss Head Lighthouse Bourbon Casks matured in ex-Bourbon barrels.
Tasting notes:
Colour: gold.Nose: spicy, floral, woody, barley, cereal, hints of white pepper and citrus fruits.
Taste: Peppery, full-bodied, hints of coconut, lemon and orange.
Finish: Long lasting, bitter, hints of wood.
