NORDÉS ATLANTIC GALICIAN GIN
Nordés Atlantic Galician Gin represents a new kind of gin that diverges from the usual juniper basis. This drink, which is manufactured in the Galician village of Vedra, is distilled from the Spanish white wine grape Albariño. With the help of botanicals such as eucalyptus, tea, hibiscus, liquorice andl lemon peels, a gin comes into being that is very floral and summery in character.
The special thing about this gin is that Albrino grapes (= Spanish white wine grapes) are distilled with 14 botanicals and traditional herbs, including juniper, eucalyptus, hibiscus, tea, lemon peel, verbena, liquorice and Frisian herb. But also plant extracts are found in this distillate. For many, this gin has something of a herbal drink mixed by druids.
Distillation is followed by a very slow maceration in the traditional style.
Tasting notes:
Color: Clear.
Nose: Floral, lemon, rosemary, cinnamon, hints of juniper.
Taste: Mild, fresh, fruity, floral, notes of juniper and coriander,
Finish: Long lasting, woody, dry, cinnamon.
This gin tastes especially good as a gin and tonic, but it is also a real pleasure when served pure.
