At the foot of Mount Ben Nevis in the western Highlands lies the distillery of the same name, which was founded in 1825 by John MacDonald. It is considered one of the first distilleries to produce both grain and malt whisky. The Coire Leis is a small lake to which a long-awaited original bottling of Ben Nevis Distillery is dedicated. The Ben Nevis Coire Leis matures exclusively in first fill bourbon casks and is ideally suited for single malt beginners, as it is relatively mild in its drinking strength. Without chill filtration and colorants, it shows itself from its best side. Tasting notes:Color: Gold. Nose: Spicy, fruity pears and apricots, hints of caramel. Taste: Oily, creamy, notes of apricot, caramel and oak spice. Finish: Long lasting.
