Laphroaig is a whisky distillery on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay and is owned by the Japanese-American Beam Suntory Group. The buildings of the distillery are classified in the Scottish monument lists. In the production of Laphroaig, barley malt is dried over a peat fire. The smoke from this peat, only found on Islay, gives Laphroaig its particularly rich flavour.
This whisky is the original whisky that was distilled 75 years ago.
