Description
The Benkovac winery was built in 1956-1957, following the models of existing wineries in the south of France. Vinarija Benkovac only really became known in 2005, when new vineyards were planted in Korlat near Benkovac on an area of 103 hectares with 530,000 vines. The vineyard includes a range of Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc i Mourvèdre. Tasting notes:A bright dark red, due to the aging in oak barrels. Strong and rich structure. In the nose red crisps, raspberry aromas and various notes of spices. At the palate harmoniously balanced and sweet, fresh as well as soft. Grape variety: Merlot. Acidity: 6,3 g/l. Drinking temperature: 18 °C.
