Description
The Benkovac winery was built in 1956-1957, following the models of existing wineries in the south of France. Vinarija Benkovac became really famous only in 2005, when new vineyards were planted in Korlat near Benkovac on an area of 103 hectares with 530,000 vines. The vineyard includes a range of Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc i Mourvèdre. Awards: - Special Edition in 2011 at Vinitaly in Verona. - Bronze medal in 2011 at the Decanter in London Tasting notes:Exceptionally deep dark red with violet reflections. On the nose aromas of plums, blueberries, blackcurrants and a hint of spices. Full-bodied, harmonious, with a pronounced freshness and ample tannins on the palate. Residual variety: Cabernet Sauvignon. Residual sugar: 6,5 g/l. Closure: cork. Serving temperature: 16-18 °C.
