The Jura Distillery on the Isle of Jura, in Craighouse, has been in existence since 1810. The distillery takes its water from the Bhaille Mharghaidh spring. The distillery has one mash tun and six stainless steel fermenting vats. Distillation takes place in four stills - two coarse stills and two fine stills. Jura ISLANDERS' EXPRESSIONS The Collection No. 01 is designed to introduce new connoisseurs to single malt whiskies. Each edition is dedicated to a certain artist. The Collection No. 01 is dedicated to Amy Dunnachie, who creates small works of art from flotsam and jetsam in Barbados. This whiskey matures in American White Oak Ex Bourbon Barrels and receives its finish in Hand Selected Rum Casks from Barbados. Tasting notes:Color: Golden bronze. Nose: Tropical, fruity, notes of coconuts, lemons, vanilla, nectarines. Taste: Sweet, rich, notes of peaches, bananas, passion fruit, juicy papayas, mangoes. Finish: Long lasting.
