The name Jack Ryan actually comes from a famous pub in Dublin's Haddington Road. It was also known as "Beggars Bush" by insiders in the district. Hence this addition to the name. The pub exists since 1803 and for more than 100 years - since 1913 to be exact - the Ryans have also been at home here. Already at this time their own malt whiskey was bottled and sold here. Originally this came from the old DWD Distillery. And the "Beggars Bush" is now a recreation of this original whiskey. The current bottling, however, comes from the Teeling Whiskey Company, which has been distilling whiskey in Dublin again since 2014. The old DWD Distillery had to close its doors in 1946.
