A unique specimen from Lynchburg - the Tennessee whiskey with the strongest aroma comes from the upper floors of the warehouses. There it is most exposed to the seasonal temperature fluctuations and works most intensively in its barrel. During its maturation, a varying amount of the whiskey evaporates - a phenomenon called "Angel's Share." The exact number of bottles from a Jack Daniel's Single Barrel is not known until after bottling - on average, 300 bottles. When Master Distiller Jeff Arnett and his tasting team select the Jack Daniel's Single Barrels, they are guided by their sense of strong personalities - less than one in a hundred barrels makes it into their selection. Through location, aging time, and the individuality of the wood, each barrel develops its uniqueness.
