The winery Markus IRO is located in Gols and covers 20 hectares. Since 2011, Markus Iro manages the entire operation. In these areas around Gols prevails the Pannonian and continental climate. Low rainfall and high humidity affect the vines. Awards: - Siegeri "À La Carte" - Gold at the Burgenland Wine Awards - 95 points from Falstaff Red Wine Guide 2020 Tasting notes:Deep dark ruby garnet with delicate rim brightening in the glass. In the nose very fine notes of cassis, fine wood spice and toasted aromas. Complex and elegant on the palate with a dark minerality. Long lasting finish of nougat and black cherries. Grape variety: 50% Merlot, 25% Zweigelt, 25% Cabernet Franc. Aging: barrique barrels. Soil: Danube gravel, black earth. Acidity: 5,0 g/l. Residual sugar: 2,7 g/l. Closure: Natural cork. Storage potential: 2037. This wine is excellent with dark meat, game as well as root vegetables.
