The Highland Park distillery was founded by Magnus Eunson in 1798. Today The Edrington Group is the owner of the distillery. It is the northernmost whisky distillery in Scotland and is located in Kirkwall on the Orkney Island mainland. The distillery buildings of Highland Park are listed in the Scottish Heritage Lists and produce around 2.5 million litres of whisky annually. The Highland Park distillery has taken its inspiration for its new range of products from the animal kingdom, so each bottling has its own taste profile. According to Nordic legend, a mighty eagle sits at the head of the sacred ash, Yggdrasil. By flapping its wings, it creates winds that sweep across the earth. The aging process takes place mainly in European oak barrels. The beasts are here! - Highland ParkTasting notes:Colour: Rich gold with mahogany accents.
