The Highland Park Distillery was founded by Magnus Eunson in 1798. Today, The Edrington Group owns the distillery. It is the northernmost whiskey distillery in Scotland and is located in Kirkwall on the Orkney island of Mainland. Highland Park's distillery buildings are listed as Scottish monuments and produce around 2.5 million liters of whiskey a year. The Highland Park 15 Years Old VIKING HEART matures for 15 years in selected first-fill European oak casks, Frist-fill American oak sherry casks and refill casks from Highland Park's Master Distiller Gordon Motion. The ceramic bottle with its unusual embossing is produced together with the specialist Wade Ceramics. Tasting notes:Color: Gold. Nose: Charred, mild, notes of cinnamon, smoke, heather peat. Taste: Warm, fresh, rich, notes of vanilla, cookie, lemon, pineapple, heather honey. Finish: Long lasting, complex, rich, peat smoke.
