This whiskey is the second bottling of the 16-year-old Fettercairn. It is initially matured in first fill Oloroso sherry casks, before receiving its finish in PX and ex-bourbon barrels. The ring on the neck of the bottle as well as the grooves on the bottle reflect the exceptionality of the distilling equipment with external cooling. Even today, the white unicorn is the trademark of the Fettercairn distillery. Fettercairn 16 Years Old Highland Single Malt 3rd Release 2022 matured for 16 years in bourbon casks, Oloroso as well as Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. This single malt was bottled unfiltered and without added colorants. The 2022 Edition combines spirits from sherry-matured and sherry-finished barrels. Tasting notes:Color: Gold. Nose: Hints of tropical fruit, figs, grapefruit and notes of oak. Palate: Ripe guava, cocoa notes, baking spices, vanilla nuances, raisins. Finish: Long and persistent.
