The Demerara distillery in Guyana, located on the tropical north coast of South America, has been processing sugar cane since 1670. The premium brand EL DORADO has become a byword for high-quality rum worldwide. The blended rums from El Dorado are blended from different vintages or batches as well as from different stills. A combination of Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant Double Wooden Pot Still and the Versailles Single Wooden Pot Still. A 15 year aging in selected oak barrels gives this blend its spicy-fruity character. The 15-year-old offered here has been awarded as the "Best Rum in the World" for the fourth time in a row!
