Craigellachie Whisky Distillery is located in the town of the same name in Moray, Scotland. The distillery was built in 1891. The distillery uses water from the Blue Hill. For the production of Craigellachie 17 Years Old, barley with low peat content, 1-2 ppm, is used. The whisky is aged for 17 years in American bourbon barrels, as well as Spanish sherry casks. The whiskey is not cold filtered. Tasting notes:Color: Amber. Nose: Lush, notes of currants, dried cherries, juicy apples, green bananas, oatmeal, granola bars, hazelnuts, raisins. Taste: Velvety, notes of pears, orange marmalade, cereal nuances, semolina porridge, oatmeal, salty licorice. Finish: Long lasting, oak.
