Bere Barley is one of the oldest barley varieties from Great Britain and a very hardy grain. To understand and recognize this ancient barley variety takes a lot of effort and patience. This 10 year old single malt was distilled with Bere barley from the Orkneys, which was used from 5 different farms, in 2012. The maturation of the whiskey took place for 10 years in oak casks. Distilled: 2012 Limited to 3,200 bottles. Tasting notes:Color: golden yellow. Nose: Complex, floral notes, fruity of green apples, limes, ripe peaches, vanilla notes. Palate: Balanced, fruity of fresh peaches, apricots, ripe apples, chocolate, spicy notes. Finish: Long lasting, gingerbread, marzipan, barley sugar.
