"Prime" is a long cherished dream; the transfer of the same emotions and flavours to a distillate that only the most famous Italian wines can offer. In order to realise this dream, collaboration was undertaken with producer friends. Step by step, the maturation of the distillates in their barrels was closely monitored and the exact same barrels that once contained the respective wines are used to preserve the original soul of each grape. Typical Venetian packaging was chosen for the Prime to celebrate the area as the centre of a small world of commitment, research and development. The raw material for this extremely delicate spirit is the aromatic Zibibbo grapes from Pantelleria, grown in the vineyards of Donnafugata. Divided into small boxes, a quick journey in a refrigerated environment guarantees the purity of the grapes when they arrive at the distillery, within 48 hours of their harvest. They are then gently pressed and undergo a controlled fermentation, followed by distillation in exclusive copper stills that are vacuum-sealed at low temperatures. Each processing step has been designed to preserve the primary aromas of the particularly valuable grapes in the best possible way.Tasting notes:Colour: Clear. Nose: Refined and persistent.
