Benriach is always looking for a versatile blend of casks from all over the world, selected for their exceptional character and flavours, so that they can be added to the whisky. The casks are filled with three different types of spirit: classic, peat or triple distilled. The distillery is well known for its long tradition and is creating a new range of products at the end of 2019, which will bring out the variety and versatility of Benriach's "orchard fruit style" even more, covering the entire spectrum of whisky tastes. The colour palette of the gift boxes and labels is inspired by the natural environment of Speyside. Benriach The Smoky Twelve is made from a combination of unpeeled and peated spirits, aged for at least 12 years in a combination of Bourbon, Sherry and Marsala wine casks. The whisky is then expertly blended to produce a smooth creamy single malt that is multi-layered with aromas of ripe fruit, aromatic smoky sweetness and warming oak spice.
