The producer J. Carranca Redondo founded the company in 1940, but the history of this liqueur goes back much further. Several years earlier, it was produced in a pharmacy in the small town of Lousã. It takes its name from the 'Beirao Congress' of the same name, which took place in Beira in 1929.
