With a population of only 3,000 on Islay, it is somewhat surprising that there are around 140 committees on this island. Among these committees is of course the largest, the Ardbeg Committee with 120,000 members worldwide. The Ardbeg Committee was founded in 1999. Limited release bottlings are produced exclusively for members of the committee. This Committee release is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the distillery. The Ardbeg distillery is the black sheep among the distilleries on Islay. It stands out especially with its turbulent history as well as its unorthodox attitude. The design of the bottle and the gift box can be derived from this thesis. The whiskey is stored in former New Zealand Pinot Noir barrels. The bottling takes place without chill filtration. Tasting notes:Color: red-orange. Nose: Fruity, smoky, a little bitter, cherries. Taste: Fruit custard, smoke, bitter cherries. Finish: Long lasting.
