Amrut Whisky is the first single malt whisky from India. Amrut or 'amrita' is a Sanskrit for 'nectar of the gods/life'. Amrut Distilleries Private Limited is part of the N.R. Jagdale Group, one of India's oldest industrial groups based in the southern Indian city of Bangalore (known as the Silicon Valley of India). Founded by the late Mr. Radhakrishna Jagdale in 1948, the group initially started as a small liquor blending and bottling plant. Mr. Jagdale's pioneering spirit and enterprise ensured that the group quickly specialized in nutritional supplements for athletes and animals, as well as water infrastructure services. Sales and assets grew until they established themselves as one of the leading industrial companies in Karnataka. This single malt is aged in oak casks and triple distilled. It is also bottled in its natural coloration and without cold filtration. It is a limited bottling of 5,400 bottles. Tasting notes:Color: gold. Nose: Caramel, coconut, vanilla, peach, melon, orange.
